💪Image of the Week: “Rosie 1” From the Rosie Series💪

March is Herstory Month - History viewed from a female or specifically feminist perspective. Oxford Dictionary

Rosie the Riveter... a woman who took on a factory job (or other occupation traditionally carried out by men) during the Second World War (1939-1945) Oxford Dictionary

Herstory month gives us a chance to honor Womens’ accomplishments in, and contributions to, history. Most of what we have been taught about the shaping of our history has been focused on the impact of males, so much so that we have become blinded to the the massive amount of influence created by women. These missing narratives of woman in the United States and the world had become a big reason why I earned a degree in Women’s Studies. The Rosie Series was created to honor the strength women show despite the struggle to be recognized, and Rosie, to me, is an icon that continues to define.
